looking back..giving thanks..

I was just looking back at my past posts... and I just realized that I have answered prayers that I haven't even noticed.

one of my posts: Tuesday, February 22, 2005
"combine prayer meeting last nite - had a bad case of gastric... pastor prayed for me... i actually felt immediate relief. it still hurt a lil but at least i could stand. believing God for complete healing for my stomach and abdominal area.... been having tummy problems for too long. i know my God can heal!!!"

and seriously...after fasting month...or maybe it was after the mission trip to Cambodia... I just realized I haven't been getting frequent stomach problems as before... God healed me and it didn't even occur to me!!! THANK YOU DADDY!!!

another answered prayer that I noticed: I've been praying for a dear friend; that he'll come to know the true God and find peace and and purpose. I also prayed that when he goes to Aus, God will send people to talk to him, reveal to him more, since I'm here and he is there. SURE ENOUGH, God HAS sent him someone. And much to my delight, he's come to a place where he's questioning the truth, our existence...etc.. He even called from Aus...to chat and to question me more on my faith. I truly believe He will find the saving grace of our Lord, and be able to live with peace in his heart. :)

Does prayer and faith work??? YES!!!!!!

Lessons & Crap

Things I've learned over the week:

=> Cleared air is good. ;)

=> It's still possible to be surprised.

=> You're not alone in this world. You think only YOU go through this shit? You're SOOO wrong!!! There's probably someone just beside you who's experiencing a similiar situation. Be alert and sensitive. You might be able to hear the cries of others and be a blessing to them instead of focusing solely on your own grief.

=> Divine appointment. God is good. He sends people to encourage you. And sends you to encourage others. This Sunday, out of nowhere, a spontaneous lunch date was formed with a friend. Happened coz I commented that we haven't chatted in a long time. And whaddya know? She was going through a really hard time. And felt alot better after we talked. I believe God planned that for us. I was blessed too as we were sharing our lives and experiences. We both were reminded that we're never alone. And as girls, we go through the same thorns. SISTERS!!! We gotta help each other be strong and to carry on!! :D

=> Relationships cause the most painful stings. But that's how our characters are formed. That's how we learn about ourselves and strive to greater heights.

And now, the CRAP!! Yahoo statuses have been revolusionized!! check this out:-
started with our dear friend johnson..

Esther and i was thinking "what the heck???" So we decided to come up with our OWN crap...and got others to join us too. LOL...what a shock johnson's gonna get when he wakes up!! MUAHAHAHA....

Languages of LOVE

A close friend sent me this article which is really worth reading. It's too long to share here, but one of the shorter ones that i found interesting is this:

THE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES OF LOVE

1) Touch. Some people just naturally touch the people they love. If they want to tell someone they love them, they kiss their cheek, or hold their hand, or gather them up in a bear hug. That's what comes naturally to them.

2) Verbal expression. When these people feel love welling up within them, their only comfortable outlet is their mouth. "I love you. I love you." While some people find it hard to express their love in words, these people can't stop.

3) Service. These people communicate love by serving the beloved. For them, love isn't love unless it's demonstrated in practical terms - wallpapering the kitchen, washing the car, preparing favorite meals.

4) Providers. These people consider their breadwinning to be the greatest expression of their love. Providers go to great lengths to ensure that even after they're gone, their loved ones will be well provided for.

5) Gift-givers. These people keep the department stores solvent. They love to buy little gifts (or big ones), wrap them beautifully, and present them with childish glee to the ones they love.

6) Opportunity enthusiasts. These people like to think of ways to challenge and inspire their loved ones to greatness. Their goal is to open up opportunities that will offer stimulation and fulfillment.

7) Time-given. These people are primarily concerned with fellowship. They're willing to rearrange their schedules so they can offer large blocks of time to the significant people in their lives.

It is interesting to know that we sometimes don't feel loved because we don't understand the love language that our friends are using and vice versa. Many times we think we're showing our friend's love, but we could be pushing them, or appear totally uncaring. For example the "Opportunity enthusiasts". You'll be urging your loved one to do things; join a singing contest, go sky-diving, take scuba diving lessons; all this to inspire ur friend maybe. But unknowingly, you're just making them feel like they're not good enough or pressured. When maybe all they need is a warm embrace.

Well, for me, I'm definitely the 1st, 2nd and last one. :) Esther, Leona, Jo, ur all 1st and 2nd too... Bea, i think ur 3&7... Auds, ur no.1,3..Mich...ur definitely no.5... Weeliem...ur like 1,2,3,7...lol...
hmmm.. no.4&6? i think Melvin is a good example... and the list goes on... i can't name everyone...

So what kind of love language do you speak? And do your loved ones understand it? If not, help them to...
:)

my CHILDhood

Looking at a picture frame on my desk;
- a photo of 4 lil toddlers wearing the same red & white striped baju, sitting on a sheepskin on a carpet with a grinning grandfather, in a house full of memories.... this is the photo of my cousins and I when we were little. Still in pampers and all. :P
The message at the back of the photo frame goes like this:

"Remember back when we were all slightly chubby but didn't care? Or when rubiks cubes were considered cool? When we were super heroes one day, secret agents the next and police & thieves an hour later? Think about these times because it's where we came from and it's why we are here now. :) Love, ALEEE"

I miss all of you; Kev, Alee, Justin, Val & Pet...we had a fantastic childhood!! And the memories will never fade from my mind and heart. Thinking bout those times really makes me wanna go back. Back to the time when everything was simple...when every place was our playground. When our imagination knew NO limit. When we could all fit in the bathtub and still have place to splash about. When our toys ranged from BARBIE to GUNS to CARS to LEGO to SOFTOYS to POTIONS to CUSHIONS to POWDER to WET TISSUE BALLS & SUPER SOAKERS.......the list goes on....

I'll never trade my childhood for anyone else's.

So....when's the next "Chai & Thong" Cousin Reunion?!??!?! This time our vacation should be overseas!! hehe.... :P

-The Reason-

I look around
What do I see?
nothing...absolutely nothing
I don't wanna go on
I don't wanna try anymore

but I remember Your words
I remember the people
I remember the needs
I remember my purpose
Most of all, I remember
what You did on the cross

You are the reason
my Friend
my Lover
my Saviour
my Lord
my God
My Jesus...
You're the reason I go on...

I AM still alive.

Yes i AM still alive....haven't had the semangat to blog though...

things i've learned and experienced for the past 2 months:

~ I'm not the kind of leader who can stand in front of a crowd and speak.

~ one of the things that can keep you going through a shitty day is the way a lil child's face lights up when she sees you even though she was cranky before that coz she just woke up. little Cambodian Kytie's smile with front teeth missing just melted my heart. will never forget that instant.

~ one of the things that make all the sweat and tiredness worthwhile is when a young village girl who can barely speak english comes up to you when you're about to leave and gives you a hug saying "sister, I love you." I will always have a place in my heart for young Rotna. I must return to Cambodia to see her. I pray that she'll get to know the true God and really grow into a powerful woman of God.

~Cambodians can carry ANYTHING on motorbikes...including fridges, big house gates...

~ Malaysia is VERY green and rich!!! Appreciate it!!!

~ Perhentian is the LIFE!! :D basking in the sun all day and lazing around in the pool and snorkling and enjoying the cool night "bayu laut" is the best holiday you can get. n SHARKS are cool!!! lol... my first encounter with sharks in the sea.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
[me, leona, & mel staring at our reflections by the sea; actually more like showing our butts!! :D ]

~ It's a small world after all.... You meet the last people you think you'll meet in the least expected places!!! Cousin's wedding... penang friends.. ?????

~ There's absolutely NOTHING to do in Fraser's!! :P But family time there was precious... picture perfect: a family of 4 praying by the waterfall.
Love you daddy, mummy, pet...

~ Sometimes you don't understand why you love a friend so much. But I thank God for such friends. :)

~ I LURVE dancing... but I'm not good enough. When will I ever get the proper training. :(

hmmmm...too many things on my mind right now... signing out.. *beep*

dedication....

I see my beloved friend dying inside... there's no more laughter... no more craziness... there's sorrow.. there's pain... there's emptiness... there's dryness...
WHY?????

anyway, darling.. this song is for u:
Icy chills round your heart
A heart that's made of stone
It seems like
Life is out to get you
To destroy what you want
I know that, that you blame me for all that you go through
It could be, so different if you would just let it go

You're all alone
Running out of ways to
Hold on to hope
And it always slips away
You're all alone
But you don't have to
Pretend to cope
There is a brighter way

If you would change your perspective
You'd see that it is true
Life is not always what you want
Sometimes it's hard to bear
I'd be with you, and help you in all that you go through
I love you, let Me change your heart by coming in

You're all alone
Running out of ways to
Hold on to hope
And it always slips away
You're all alone
But you don't have to
Pretend to cope
There is a brighter way

okay.. u DON'T blame Him for anything... :P... but yea... He loves u... n i'm sure he cries when u cry... n he feels ur pain... don't give up hope. u have so much in store for u. i know that. it's just blurred by all the things that ur going through. n it looks like it's just darkness... but it's not. morning will come. n u will see the sunshine again. n smile again. n laugh again. n be crazy again...heh... can't wait till u get there.
just remember that ur not walking alone. Jesus is there. maybe u just need to hold His hand n u will see the path better? i know it's easy to say... but u'll get through it. HUGZ* i'm here for u too... u know that. love u sweetie... MUAKS*

words cannot express the GREATNESS of my God!!!

OH MY GOSH!!! i cant express how im feelin now!!! im happy!! MORE than happy!!
im practically jumping around in my seat!! felt like dancing around my room. haven't stopped singing since it happened... can't stop marvelling at God's greatness...

aaahhhhhh!!!! i want to SHOUT IT TO THE WORLD!!! :D
here's the deal. i needed a certain amount of money. i signed up for the mission trip with NO idea where the money was gonna come from. the amount of money i need is a really huge amount for me. i never dreamed of saving up enuf. but i just trusted God to provide and faithfully prayed for it. not just money for me but for the whole team. as the date got closer, i admit i started getting worried.
but guess what. God is GOOD if u didn't already know! and He's awesome and wonderful and indescribable!!! he provided for me!! MORE than i needed!! so much more!!!
my mom just smses me 20 mins ago to tell me the good news. n i haven't stopped rejoicing.

honestly... i never dreamt that i would experience this kindda miracle. i always hear it happening to other ppl. but not to me. money has always been an issue. i don't starve. but i DO go hungry sometimes. but God is still great. and He knows the right time to do certain things.

rewinding back to sunday. pastor's sermon was totally awesome! he spoke about PRAISE as well as God's greatness... MAN!!! seriously, if u think about it. look at the vastness of the skies....EVERYTHING that u see when u look up, isn't even 1% of the earth's sky. THAT's how great the sky is. all the more great is the God who created it....WWHHOOOOOAAAA..... suddenly u become nothing. a speck of dust? microorganism?
ur problems also reduce to nothing. just KNOWING n REALIZING how great our God is.. MY God.... I can't express fully in words how amazing He is....

even thinking about the paper i screwed up was really disappointed by.... so what? what if i fail? God is still great! n my failing doesn't change anything. I still serve the almighty God....and that's the biggest success that i'll ever have!!

Thank u Daddy God...Jehovah Jireh.... thank u thank u thank u thank u thank u....

~rejoicing~

the "aftermath"

okay... my last post was nasty...that was RIGHT after my paper. that was how i was feeling.... cried my eyeballs out after that....(how childish)...don't think i've ever cried over an exam before. but this time i was really crushed. i was really confident that i could score at last. i really knew my stuff for this subject. even when i saw the questions i knew i could do it. but carelesness killed all my hopes of scoring. thought i could prove to myself that i could do it. that i wasn't stupid. thought i could make my parents and God proud. guess i was wrong.

after blogging n crying, i msged my mom... calmed down... opened the daily bread and my bible.... guess what words popped right out?? "WHERE IS YOUR TRUST???"haha... it's funny how everytime i'm faced with a circumstance or disappointment, the daily bread will have something DIRECTLY for me.
anyway...Jeremiah 17:5-10 spoke to me personally. i learned that trusting Him is far greater than exam results or anything else.
God's peace also took over... after my outburst of anger, disappointment and tears, i finally felt comfort and peace that i know only my Daddy God can give me.

mummy replied my sms some time later. she said "it's okay...just trust that God has a greater purpose". she also said that she was praying for God to comfort me. thank God for parents like mine. :D wouldn't trade them for the world.

"Lord, whatever your purpose is, I want to trust You...whether or not i pass or fail, my trust is still in You. whether or not i have enough, or i lack, i will still trust in You."

!%^@$%@#@^%^#$^&!!!!

*&!%^&!$$#$@!%^&$@%^@$*&^!&$#%@*&%$#@%^$@%$@^&#^!!!!!!!!
the only word ringing in my head now is..yes... the Four letter F word!!
WHY?!?!?! COZ IM A FREAKIN IDIOT WHO HAS NO BRAINS WHATSOEVER!!!

WHAT'S THE FREAKIKNG POINT IN STUDYING SO HARD AND GOING TO LECTURES TO PAY ATTENTION, WHNE UR JUST GONNA BE AN IDIOT AND SCREW IT UP IN UR FINALS ANYWAY??!?!?

i wont feel bad if i KNOW i didnt study for that particular part. BUT WHEN I FREAKING KNOW WHAT THE HECK THEY'RE ASKING AND I COULD HAVE SCORED FOR THE DAMN PAPER, I MUST CARELESSLY, STUPIDLY MAKE A DUMB ASS MISTAKE AND SCREW THE WHOLE PAPER!!! !^&*%!^&$@^&%$#%!^&$@^%$@^$#@^%$%!^&%!!!!!!!

arrgghhhh!!! GOODDD!!! WWHHYYY?!?!?!? am i destined to do badly in exams??? in uni???
just when i thought i could pull up my grades with this paper.... n You know that i knew my stuff... but i had to make a STUPID STUPID STUPID MISTAKE!!!!!!
what's the point of studying anymore?!??!? i dont have the mood to go on. might as well just screw up the rest of my papers too. wont make a freaking difference!

IDIOT!!! <- yup! that's ME!!!

~happenings~

prophesying prayer - POWERFUL stuff!! really experienced a release and a growth in faith when we practiced on Easter Sunday.

Earthquake tremors~ exciting experience!! mine went like this.....
esther & i were at our own comp tables as usual. bea was sitting on the floor leaning on esther's cupboard. micah was on the mattress. we were just talking, when suddenly bea asked, "why is everything shaking?". then only did esther and i realize that our tables and chairs were swaying. at first esther thought someone was shaking her chair. from outside, chern liang asked everyone "did u feel that??". gim shouts "i thought my chair only shaking!!". my first thought: who's jumping so hard??? LOL... chern liang said jokingly at first "RUN!!" :P
we all ran out to the balcony to see if other residents were feeling it. wai choong then came over and said "better leave the building now!"
esther was still in disbelief, "really must go ar?"
we all just grabbed our wallets and handphones and went out. the moment i stepped out our front door, i heard people from every floor starting to run down the stairs. gates were slamming...people were shouting...everyone was rushing. we soon joined the flow of people rushing to get out. honestly, i was half expecting so see the building starting to collapse. :P

reaching outside, we saw that EVERYONE from EVERY block was rushing out. the whole community of Cyberia residents were outside man!!! what a sight!! it was interesting to see everyone gathering people...everyone was trying to call friends, and pretty soon we were in one whole group together. althought the lines were VERY jammed!
moments later the police, bomba and all arrived. gave orders for the whole building to be evacuated. we were given instruction to go to the main road. and so, many of us moved to a quieter part of the road and gathered in groups to pray. we held hands and prayed for friends, family, the nations, especially indonesia....amazing experience!

anyway, we had to wait outside for bout 3 hours before they let us back in.
i wasn't afraid of dying... i was afraid for my friends and family... i was afraid for the people who are most affected. the indons again.... :( my heart was just crying out for those who were experiencing death of loved ones, lost homes....
Life is short. Gotta stop fooling around and really doing things that matter.

Seniors graduation ~ was holding back my tears. failed to do so at certain instances. looking at all their faces, and knowing that we're not gonna be seeing them (ever or not as often)....oh man....gonna miss them so much!!!! sob*

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

was reading 1 John today... and i came across a few verses that talks about love.

1 John 2:9-11 ~ says that even though we claim to be in the light, if we hate our brother, we're living in darkness.
I John 3:11-15 ~ speaks of if we do not love, we remain in death. anyone who HATES his brother/sister (friends, family, etc...) is a MURDERER!, and you know that NO murderer has ETERNAL LIFE in Him.

doesn't these 2 passages say enough about LOVE?!?!?! why then are we getting our focus all wrong, and instead of loving our brothers and sisters who have fallen or are living in darkness, we're shunning them or TRYING to make them holy?!?!?
isn't God's first characteristic, LOVE? isn't God himself LOVE? GOD=LOVE
i think we should all know that by now. YES God is a HOLY God, but the 2 most important commandments that He gave us is "Love the Lord your God with all your heart" and "Love your neighbour as yourself".
sadly, i don't see this. i see people judging people for being less "holy" than themselves. i see people hating each other. i see people shunning those who have left CF or church. WHY? i believe satan is really messing with our mindsets and making us get all our perspectives wrong. if he can remove love from the church, he can do anything. coz we would've lost our MAIN essence of being a Christian.

we really gotta stop focussing on people's weakness and sin, and start loving them as creations of our AWESOME GOD!!! and HATE?!?! it's satanic!! throw it away!!! being judgemental?!?! the bible says, "judge and you will be judged!" -by God himself.

so LOVE!!! it's not that difficult. just see each person as a child of God. we need to respect and care for every single being created by our loving God.

reactions? GURLS : it's nice!!! suits u...
GUYS: "hey...u really look like a poodle now. :P", "what happened to ur

conclusion?
girls are either too nice to say it's ugly
OR guys tend to like straight hair

CAMERONS!! the OAs, the cold air, the nature..

LOCAL MISSION TRIP!!! i actually didn't sign up whole heartedly....because i knew that would use up some of my money saved up for the Cambodia mission trip. but in the end i did. something told me i should go.
preparations was pretty rushed and last minute, as everyone was busy with tests and assignments. but we made it.

the drive: was FUN!! first time driving up a highland!! a REAL WINDY one too!! good experience. hehe... and auds' car is really nice to drive up. easy to handle & zippy.

checking in: after eating in the town (ringlet) we followed uncle isaac to the place we were gonna stay in - Winterhome. mich, celine & i sat his TRUCK up from town to the place. BOY was THAT an experience!!! the trip was bumpy. we were standing at the back of the truck. the icy wind was freezing our asses off.. lol... and driving UP the hill to Winterhome was like sitting (more like standing) on a roller-coaster ride. the 3 of us didn't once stop laughing the whole drive there. must've been high on the coldness & excitement.
when we reached the place... whoooaaaa.... are we sure we're on a mission trip? feels more like a vacation. the house was beautiful...surrounded by forests and a lake.. it had a fireplace too (but not used). it was very antique in a way... old and beautiful. even the BATHROOMS look so antique.

visiting the Orang Asli people:
there's too much to mention. it was beyond what i expected. we could only see 1 or 2 houses from the main road. the REST of the houses were built along the way, down the hill (i don't know how to explain this). the children ran around barefooted, with such familiarit with the place. i was so scared some of the little ones would fall down the "cliff". but none did. they moved around much more easily than us.
the people welcomed us warmly. the kids stared at us with beautiful big wide eyes. cutting the long story short... the children were shy but obedient and responsive. they did everything we asked them to. the thing that caught me off guard was the fact that most of them didnt understand us. lol....i was wondering why some of them didn't answer me; they just giggled and talked to each other. then only did i find out they weren't speaking BM. they spoke their own orang asli language. ;P
ADORABLE!!! they are SOOOOO ADORABLE!!! and good.. they don't cry when they fall. they keep quiet when we're talking. they look after each other (brothers & sisters)....their bond, i believe, is so strong.

the adults...we visited them in their homes & ministered to them on sunday during their service. their houses are made of wood and bamboo....mostly of which were built by 1 person only. there are holes everywhere...the floor can cut if not careful. & the houses are the size of one master bedroom or smaller. with 8 people living in one!!! bedroom, kitchen, hall, everything is within that lil space.
their lives are so simple....they have so little. money & food is scarce. they can hardly sleep at night due to the cold. and yet, im sure they complain less than us. we have EVERYTHING if seen from their eyes. and yet we have SO much to complain about. this trip really reminded me to be thankful for everything....coz God has given me so much!
even though they have so little, they gave us gifts - a "sumpit", a pokok ayamas each...they're just so generous and wished they could give more. we had to keep saying it's okay... we didn't want anything.
i really hope i can return there. my heart melted when a makcik cried as we were departing. she said "balik lah sini....tinggal dengan makcik....makcik rindu..." and she was hugging us...and kissing our hands... :(

one more thing..the nature.... was indescribable...went hiking to our morning devotion place. and the scenery just took my breath away.

"Almighty God...Your creation is SO beautiful!! we could never thank You enough.... and Lord, i pray that You will always watch over the orang asli's....protect them & envelope them with Your love and peace...and fill them with Your joy...so that they will be without lack because they live in You....in Jesus' name....amen! "

p/s: the team was fantastic!! Ken, Johnson, Kae Ee, Kevin, Julian, Alvin, Audrey, Celine, Michelle, Melisa...everyone had something to offer... it was a pleasure working with u guys!!! KEN, u were a GREAT LEADER!! thank you..

. :23rd Burfday: .

it's been sometime since this event... but i thought i'd still post it anyway.me....turning 23... sigh...i don't like the number. :(

Fri
didn't actually plan on celebrating it. just wanted to chill out with some close friends. so after a conference in church, i went to esther's house. mel picked us up from there and we all went to fetch sautheng. asked shern to meet us at mont kiara. messsaged david asking if he wanted to join us. .....and so.. what was expected to be a quiet little gathering, turned out to be quite a large one!! :D shern brought his whole gang of about 10-12 people. but they left early. and david brought a lil cyber gang. :P the snacks were good!! (sandwiches & sausages!! yummy!! *salivating*) the wine was good.... grin* ate at ming tien after that. not to forget, when the clock struck 12 that night, the calls and messages kept pouring in. many of whom i was surprised to hear from. all in all....it was a good night.

Sat
MOTHER-DAUGHTER day!!! wheeee!! mummy, pet & i went to klcc for lunch and shopping. hehe... was a good day of just hanging out. although i didnt buy anything. only my sister did. we shared a pair of shoes though. it's SOOOOO chun!! can't wait to wear em. but no ocassion. sigh*had dinner at a neighbour's hse that night since it was his mom's bday too. MAN!!! THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC!! his family was friendly. :P & i was the only chinese there... lol..had a pleasant surprise when a friend called from Perth. :D made a perfect end to a great birthDAY.
